I was originally typing this on my phone but had to move to my computer to make a graph to display what I'm saying (In my data the two original examples are computed with no money down): If I paid an additional $500 towards principle each month (after developing a suitable nest egg for CapX, of course), not only do I cut the term of the loan by 20.6 years, but I also end up paying $57,067.14 less in interest over the term.
