The rooms are unfurnished and the tenants are very low-maintenance (hardly know they are there). 2+Unit Buildings here and nearby currently sell for $1.5M on average.I bought the property 16 years ago, so my mortgage rate is very low (2.2%) Even though the property is cashflow positive, my bigger play is the average 5% yearly appreciation.I'm looking for others who are interested in house-hacking in this neighborhood.

I wouldn’t purchase a STR property anywhere it wouldn’t work as a MTR or LTR unless its local economy is based on STR.

Not at all.... the rent is based on the market rate, so if the units are all different...size/location/lay out/age etc etc... they would have different markets rates.

I was under the assumption because I wasn't informed of marektable title Before the closing date, that maybe there was/is a way to get the EMD back, but based on your response to my post, it doesn't look like I can.
