There are probably a couple thousand conversations about TurnKey properties on BiggerPockets at this point - lots of good info being rehashed here, but I'd think really hard about why you would rather buy a cheap house on the opposite side of the country than a slightly more expensive one within driving distance of your house. 

Back in the early 90's condos/beach houses in that area were dirt dirt cheap and all I really wanted was to a small piece of pie and have a place to escape to from all the stress of dealing with/solving other people's problems.

I personally like carpet in bedrooms, and it is cheap to start with/replace.  

Just like I'd love a cheap place in Monaco, but I'm not entitled to have it for life from some governing body. 

um that's the think i have been looking through zillow and there is a wide range of houses i have been interested in 19143, 19134, 19140 are a couple of zip codes that i have found cheap houses that could potentially be great rental properties.

I have found cheap #10 size envelopes but cannot find a good source for a more personalized A6 (or similar size) envelopes.Thanks in advance for any input

SI is pretty cheap compared to brooklyn or Manhattan, so many people are willing to trade longer commutes for less rent ie 3k/month rent for small 1 bed 1bath in Manhattan to 1k/month similar size apartment in SI.

If you’re looking to do a live-in flip in Saratoga, that might be an option if you can find a cheap enough property that you can force appreciation into.

Other than get it for insanely cheap.  

Keep the remodel cheap by not changing the layout of the fixtures.
