Preferably, we would like to house hack once we move back to in Ohio in a year.The steps we are taking now: saving for the closing cost and/or down payment (if we decide not to take advantage of the VA loan) and we are researching areas to move.Is there anyone here who has made the transition from military life to civilian life while investing in real estate?

To exclude our military members from the American dream of homeownership, is downright absurd.Now, I can see in one-off situations that if the listing agent knows that the property condition can't pass VA, they could exclude it right on the listing to save everyone's time, and that would make sense.
