Yes, they did offer that formally in their letter and that was one reason with the other being that I didn't have much notice to market the property and I didn't want to leave it vacant, I rented it to another family at a lower rate than what I had been charging.

It’s one thing if you’re struggling to pay rent, but to refuse to pay rent AND refuse to leave and force another landlord file a formal eviction against you (since evictions are to recover possession of a property) says a lot about you as a person (in my opinion).
