I'm looking a t a place that is listed as 7 units in chicago in RT-4 zoneAfter quick lookup i got contradictory pieces of information1 up to 3 apartments2 low density apartments with no number attached to itso my questions are1 is is that ok that it is a 7 unit2 can i reduce the number of apartments to lets say 4 units or do i need special permits to do sothx

If it attaches to the property the county usually has it on record.

All newly constructed units must be attached to the existing dwelling.

No one wanted to do the back house as it was not attached they said -- that made it unconventional.

It would suck to buy the property only to find an additional $10K of liens attached.
