Jonathan, plenty of people make money as landlords in Austin but it is rough.Chicago has some very tough areas yet Austin has more murders than all of them -  Chicago Homicide 2019To be fair it's also one of the largest geographical areas and the north side of it is different than the southside of Austin.   

We are still the third largest metro area in the USA, so for someone buying a 2-4 unit this is not going to impact you that much.

Also, it's the largest duplex that was on the market and so its price per SQ.FT. was a good amount lower compared to many of the 2000 and newer builds.All offers/negotiations are unique. 

Do not encourage anyone in the buildings infested, your units or otherwise, to use 'foggers' because while they may work, what they generally do is spread the issue.I'm relatively new to the forums here, so i don't know if it's allowed to say so in a post...but if you'd like to send me a private message i can tell you the chemicals i used (which are available through the worlds largest online retailer......) and, at least in Michigan, do not required any sort of license to use.
