Cheaper is never better.

At the end of the day, people are what’s most important.If your goal is to save or stockpile the most money, then yes, renting out the new house might be the best bet if you can leave for cheaper elsewhere (which it sounds like you are).

I feel like small wants to be cheaper and as nice as a hotel room. mid catering to families that won't quite fit in a hotel, high schmoozing big spenders. 

A normal loan much cheaper.  

It just buys you time while your other marketing is working and provides you boots on ground for someone to show the property (if your cleaner shows) that's cheaper and more accessible than an agent. 

I was able to get several properties at a time when they were cheaper than they had been in a decade, and that has given me a real cushion.

I've found that for tile, the big box retailers Lowes and HD have a smaller selection from what's on display but are much cheaper than the specialty stores for a similar quality of flooring.
