It has been my experience that simply announcing one's goals makes them more tangible and increases the likelihood that they will come to fruition.Mine is quite simple ... buy and hold ONE 10-50 unit apartment complex which provides a cash on cash return of greater than 10% from day one, with value added opportunities to increase that return over the next 2 years to 15% or greater.

For example you may have a property under contract and want to wholesale so you could make an announcement looking for a cash buyer or you may want to joint venture with someone on a rehab. 

I would not take too much for granted about why people sell, nor would I take for granted that a person that has gone to a great deal of effort to shield their identities are going to be happy when you call and announce that your detective work has led you to them.

(Though, New York City with its recent announcement of $7,500 fines is doing its best to squash the supply side of that equation.)

Using the wrong terminology will announce to people you are a noob, and make it more likely you will be taken advantage of.  

Apple announced on Thursday that it is building a new $1 billion campus in Austin, Texas.

Amazon just announced that they are going to start using our large county airport as a sorting hub.
