Alcohol is expensive and damages your body / brain. 

I think it helps with the consumption mindset and tells the truth about the real wealth in this country. 

Talk about a never ending drain on the bank account, but to each their own.If you want to be like nearly everyone else and live this life of constant consumption then that's completely fine. 

I’d imagine conspicuous consumption and recreation would be the first cutbacks from someone’s budget in a crunch.

They want to live on the streets, so that their SSI check can go to alcohol and drugs, and panhandle for more money for alcohol and drugs.

@Marcus Auerbach I wonder if you assume that the cash flow from cash flow properties an investor owns goes into consumption by the investor?
