@Martin MoloneyI'm not sure on the staining but my wife does epoxy work on slab and I'm a believer in the material.We have a 950 square foot addition we're working on now and that will be the floor surface for the bottom level.

Not knowing specifics or geographic location or power needs for this home and using basic code requirements a total rewire for a 2700 sf home with new hardware and trim excluding a new service would run somewhere in the neighborhood of $25,000, this does not include the repair to exterior surfaces that would be required to “chase” wires across beams and studs.

Will nearly 50% currently delinquent (and nothing can be done to make them pay with current economy) guess what happens if this is the time any of the following need replaced: parking surfaces due to deterioration of assphalt-Carport covers due to rust or excess snow crushing them- roof finally gives up the ghost and only 3 owners are currently paying their fees.

Had I known then what I know now---to always bring a screw driver to poke at any possible surfaces, any wood, any stairwell, any gaps, to test the integrity of the wood/coatings--I could have discovered what is a very common problem of dry rot/water damage.

Can you not just a) paint the wall and ceiling b) polish any wood, glass or other surfaces and c) use some Febreeze or other substance on the carpets, curtains and what-not?

I figure 1000 will save me a lot more in the future by passing on homes in worse shape than they seem to be on the surface.
