I basically listened to every podcast I could listen to, read as many books/blogs/posts I could find. 

Hey @Austin Works, here are some articles I wrote on BP based on my experiences. https://www.biggerpockets.com/blogs/10042/Right now the biggest concern is STR regulations and permitting. 

So much info it is a little overwhelming but I am listening to podcasts daily plus trying to read more blogs and forums.My short term goals are as follows for now until I exceed them.I will buy my first investment property before the end of 2018.In 3 years I will be making 5k in passive income.In 5 years I will be making 10k in passive income.Ideally I would like to find some local people I could help and learn from.

The more FIRE blogs I read, the more I realize that the majority of them are well-versed in tax tricks that allow them to minimize their tax burden to next to nothing. 

Most of the podcasts, blogs, and/or books that talk about starting out, mention steps like analyze 100 first or go see 50 houses first and it seems realtors get bored when you constantly ask for comps but aren't ready to buy, either because you're getting your education or the deal turns out not to be a deal (which you don't know until you analyze it with a good ARV lol) ...
