I am also slowly working on getting my pilot’s license as time allows and hope to eventually build and fly my own plane.

Think of it like learning to fly a plane, versus drive a car.  

@Sofia Sendra- thanks ..are you planing to  buy an investment property  or a  primary residence to  begin with ?  

If not, I think you need to buy a plane ticket and go have a look.

of course they asked me if it rained much :)I said well i know it rains sideways  LOLBut for sure the Oregon coast has its loyal following.. but the national audience here on BP  they have to realize that Brookings and Astoria are 250 miles or so apart and a LONG day on the road between them.. great area though if you have access or have a small plane because air miles between the north coast and PDX area is really only about 50 miles.. so 2 hour drive can be a 20 minute to 30 minute flight.I used to get from Tillamook to Aurora in less than 25 minutes..

I got my pilot's license a couple of years ago, and have since realized that I will never be able to afford a plane just based on the salary I pay myself.  

It all makes since I'm not jumping on a plane to fix toilets, agreed that teams are crucial to success.
