My point of emphasis is that the same strategies of wealth creation and preservation are rapidly evolving and real estate as part of an investment or retirement portfolio might be more intelligent and essential than ever.

Essentially the CFPB has had a license to do whatever the heck it wants since it’s creation under Dodd Frank, and many people have called the bureau’s director a straight up “mobster.”According to a recent article published on MPAMag.com, an ex CFPB insider told authorities, “Based on my observations at the Bureau, I have concluded that the Bureau is sorely in need of effective oversight, and that Bureau management needs to be held accountable, particularly with regards to its internal management practices.”

The flow has continued since - China's tremendous growth and the creation of a Nouveau Riche segment in their population has seen continued buying of real estate in Vancouver.  

I"m a true believer in the power of wealth creation through prudent buy-and-hold investment properties.The only disadvantage of buying within an IRA (if you want to call them disadvantages), is that you can only finance with non-recourse loans, and you lose the tax benefits that would normally flow down to you on your personal tax returns.

I'll add a couple of examples I found helpful, the first chapter is called The Broken Window. when a rock is thrown through a window, some people go on and on how this is wonderful, this creates work for someone to fix the window, but in reality, if the window hadn't been broken the owner of the shop would have bought a new suit instead, and created work for a tailor, and had both a new suit and a window, not just a window. but no one ever saw the suit because it never came into existence because the owner of the shop had to use his limited resources to buy a window. but everyone can see the window and the job "created" by it so they are fooled into thinking a job was created and a window was brought into existence and that this was productive.the second chapter, creating jobs for the sake of job creation is really just moving jobs around, and usually the market not the government can best decide what people actually want and need.

The question in my mind immediately would be what is the 'value' in terms of wealth creation of potential for appreciation of the underlying asset as a property owner in a long-term holding situation versus beginning to make a return on my investment now as a lender of money.
