It can actually be riskier (investment wise) as you are not getting a traditional check every month, but added responsibility that you will hold onto the lump sum throughout the 3 month tenancy to accommodate for repairs, mortgage payments etc...

Definitely be careful, as most nationwide brokers will incorrectly rate you for traditional property management insurance, which almost always applies to LTRs and specifically excludes STRs in the fine print.

Find someone that will loan you the money or partner with you on it that is non traditional like an investor that buys directly at foreclosure auctions in the area.
