I think for Americans it's a mistake to speculate based on currency exchange rates and how they may make properties overseas look cheap.

So now with your $70k (from HELOC and selling Crypto) you have enough for a $280k house (75% LTV). 

If you feel you are RE heavy, I agree that the property could be sold to pay off your primary, but you could also invest in property in another nation (If Yuen becomes the world reserve currency, a move could be in order), or in the market for strict diversification.Either way, I'd be cautious about buying too heavily into theories regarding debt ceilings, currency dominance and geopolitics in general.

@Susannah NationThe biggest mistake I see any investor make, whether it is real estate, stocks, crypto, is investing in some thing they do not understand.

About 80-90% of these investors assets are about evenly split between stocks, real estate, and holdings of private companies with a little bit in other assets like hedge funds, currencies, commodities, etc. 

Think of Bitcoin and other Crypto crashing to $0, stock market declining 20%+, Tesla filing for bankruptcy, eviction and foreclosure moratorium expiring, oil at $150/barrel, Fed raising rates to combat hyperinflation, interest rates on 10 year treasuries going to 3%+, China invading Taiwan, and more civil unrest in USA all happen before the end of the year....Austin market and every other real estate market will plummet quick.
