Batteries (AA) need to be changed every 6 months or so (We Always Keep a spare key in a lock box for those battery surprises).

For one of my duplexes, I used to live in one unit, rent out spare rooms in my unit, and also rent out the entire 2nd unit which had 3 bedrooms.

Outside of that there is lots of highrises in the development stage and with the city being so compact, property is becoming more and more scarce here.

Unless you have extra money to spare and unless you have multiple properties, it shouldn't be required.
