Now, I am not one to risk big $$, but IF I were a gambling man, I would jump on the condo (at 50% on the dollar of course:), get the place cash flowing, and if FEMA steps in, you just doubled your money thanks to the American tax payer.

Hey @John Heffner - Great questions, I would say this requires a deep analysis of exactly what you're looking to do (I was/am in a similar situation where I have heavily appreciating SFRs in Sac that I've chosen to begin 1031ing into SFRs elsewhere.

Of course it is yet it’s the struggle we have chosen as “investors” it’s very rewarding and you can’t make up some this stuff; pissed you off then but funny now which mitigates the challenges.
