Considering the high prices of other lots in the area, many have said I got a great deal.The land I bought has a 2-bedroom, 1-bath house that was listed as 550 sqft but is actually 750 sqft; the records just weren't updated with the city.

Does Airbnb already includes and pays the Austin hotel city tax of 11% or do they just include the state tax of 6%?

Or better, buy a property that is not subject to an HOA.Also, if you are leasing for 6 months or less, you will be subject to the 6% Florida short term rental tax.You may also have city and county additional taxes, business tax receipt, and mandatory inspections for short term rental depending on the jurisdiction where your property is located.

I would absolutely talk to your landlord, here is the city it's customary for both agents to be present at all showings.  

Also, our property is 10x the size of most in the city at 1.75 acres.

I've never heard of any city grants that help out Section 8 investors.

And the market conditions are unwelcoming (physically distressed inventory, difficulties with Ogden City, and poor tenant pool).
