Our wish list:1) Squatters actually getting arrested - and quickly: Once word gets out on the street that this is being enforced, it will become less of an issue.2) Tighter scrapper laws and aggressive enforcement: City wants new furnaces & hot water heaters per code, but what's the point if they keep getting stolen?

@Paolo F. https://www.com.ohio.gov/documents/real_COM3688REC...The Ohio Board of Realtors and Div of Commerce has a complaint process...I'd consider using it along with consulting with an attorney (I can recommend one who has dealt with Sierra Realty recently).If a real estate professional has stolen or defrauded then they should be publicly held accountable and there is a due process here in Ohio to initiate that. 

I'm talking about stolen appliances, holes in the drywall, broken windows, drug paraphernalia, and even sometimes urine and feces.

My friend had an issue with a detached parking area being the place for deals and ditching stolen cars.

@Mark DouglasIf your handyman has brains and a bit of experience, he might refuse the keys and work hard with you on an alternative solution.The obvious convenience solution exposes your handyman to questions and suspicions about whether he has ever entered an occupied property on the sly and either stolen something valuable or done unspeakable things there.I'm a renovation contractor and I do most of the work on my own properties.

saw one yesterday that had severe freeze damage, homes with hot water or steam heat are practically vulnerable.also check for stolen pipes, wires, another one that I saw yesterday has all the cooper pipes, and all the cooper wires and all the electrical equipment stolen. 

Fortunately I have been investing in areas recently where I haven't had any theft problems, but I have had lots of tools and appliances stolen and that is why I looked into it a while back.

Both properties are C class, vacant and need full rehabs inside about $15-20k per door; kitchen, bath some wall replaced, replace some stolen copper pipes plumbing etc.

@Steve Babiak  ya Texas  MS  AL GA all those areas if you don't have central air it can be pretty miserable ..I was speaking about MS  as that's were I encountered these rules...I got tired of our condenser units getting stolen and wanted to put in window units but that was a no go for the hud contracts we had

But the problem is he is only stealing $99 so the charge would not be a felony but then again maybe he is selling stolen property which is worth more LOL I would def go after this person.
