Confirming once again that there is no such thing as economic, only mass psychology.

Due to my OCD tendencies, and for the psychological benefit of a fresh start, I created an all new account.I am a licensed professional counselor, a PhD candidate, a husband, and a new father.

The BIGGEST hurdle most investors face, aside from analysis-paralysis, is the psychological block of investing in a market outside of their immediate driving radius.  

This hasn't really had any negative effect except psychologically it can be bothersome.

.- Getting rid of that HELOC from the divorce (mostly psychological but will enjoy the return of my cash flow)- Completely shedding the remnants of my marriage (admittedly psychological)- Downsizing from a big house that we don't need to something more reasonably sized and easier to maintain- Getting me, a middle aged single guy, closer to more activities and socialization prospects- Much, much closer to his work, and to stores etc.

Geez, I learn so much investor psychology here!

Although it's clear to see the obvious financial benefits of paying off consumer debt, you may also realize a few underrated psychological benefits.

This not only provides a psychological boost (who wants to lose money?)
