@Jeni Lu , Get rid of the bushes against the home, make small mulch area from house out 18" to 24" for small planter for small plants.

Real estate is a great place to grow your money up, but you have to plant lots of seeds.

Should I consider pulling out shrubs surrounding house and put mulch or rock down and plant new plants?

Hi Rosie,The "no money/no credit" guru shtick is what planted the seed with me to get into REI.  

So, about the only con I see is the course work and open book tests you have to suffer through.

So those who suggest someone would struggle to survive on that are fortunate to suffer from the bias of being unusually wealthy.
