While you might use $100-$200 as a healthy goal for a LTR, several investors I know use $1000 per month as the BASELINE goal of a STR inclusive of all savings per month.

Don’t get me wrong, cost of living in the island could be very high for groceries, gas, and the like, meaning tourist often preferred Dominican Republic or other Caribbean destinations with all inclusive resorts, but of course, this is not what we are discussing here.

If your $50,000 budget was inclusive of contingent funds then this would adjust the total project cost and the equity contribution a lender would look for down.

In Punta Cana, you'll have tho contend with the fact that most visitors want to stay in all-inclusive resorts and you can't compete against that while, in Tulum, you might have to contend with overbuilding of epic proportions and the ensuing competition.

Peer Street alluded to safety of the investments because of their ownership in the property but our interest seems to be secured by some kind of all inclusive note that appears to be backed only by Peer Street Corp.
