I am very exciting to have found this website, after spending the past 2 weeks pulling my hairs out trying to figure out the pieces to Real Estate Investing.INTRODUCTIONA little bit about myself, I am totally new to this whole Real Estate investing arena, at best 2 weeks of experience.  

Real estate is just another problem for us to figure out.On the flip side we tend to be more introverted and small-c conservative than sales and marketing types, so we struggle with those parts of the business.I think you also get to a point in engineering where you have to decide whether to stay on a technical path or go over to the pointy-haired dark-side of management.

They went to a coding boot camp and now work in IT, and I searched high and low for some sort of job that wouldn't make me tear my hair out and landed in the finance world.

But we’ve leveled out from last year and both rents and values have plateaued or even dipped a hair.  

I know it sounds like I'm splitting hairs but some banks write HELOCs in their residential department....which won't write Investment Properties.

Dander, odor, allergies, barking, hair, etc.

My mom a hair salon with 3 apartments over the salon my father a landscaping business and also has 3 units over his garage where he keeps his equipment.

Tell him you do not buy houses that are listed but the second it is not listed anymore to contact you.Give them your number your email your address, a piece of your hair, a nail clipping, and an eyeball if you have to.He will reach out to you when that piece of pooples doesn't sell on the market!

I did not do that and I ended up getting my hopes up for absolutely nothing (not the first time LOL)Here are my main two lessons.Lesson #1Know exactly what you are getting into when it comes to buying properties that can have some hair on them!

While a new one is more valuable than an existing, you will be splitting hairs of maybe $500 on a $200,000 purchase and if they walk your carrying costs per month are most likely more than that.
