It's done by wholesalers all over the country by assigning the contract through whatever is the local convention for contract assignment.

No first hand knowledge just my impressionsSo I suspect he is going to go down the guru path and start to charge if he is not already for training and given his performance I saw I also suspect he will be successful at it given his personality and ability to stand up and talk the talk in front of large groups not every one can do that.. 

Just need more advice on how to get the path started. 

Granted this approach may not create generational wealth, but it will provide your parents a safe path forward.i would not be looking to expand their RE holdings.  

And unfortunately, being a "Guru" that's on several stages across the country gives one a sense of credibility from the start.
