If it goes completely, it's a huge system to repair (big $$) and I'll be annoyed at not having charged them the initial $ (almost $200, in Austin, TX).  

That also means keeping a cool head when annoyed so you don't make any threats you aren't willing to keep.

If you do report the parents to CPS make sure you don't do it annoyances just in case the parents want to sue you.
