I am impressed with people who have 50 or so properties free and clear, but the thing that stays in the back of my mind is what they could be doing with the equity in those properties?

My mind is set on growth and I have put very little thought into what I'm growing into.  

You have options, 2 that come to mind is a Home equity loan or line to use as your down payment. or if you can get a commercial loan, you can use the house as collateral without removing the money and having a loan.
