There is the DC REIA that is led by Sherman Ragland who is on Bigger pockets, do a search for their site (DCREIA); and there is a meetup group that meets monthly at the National Harbor led by Andre Johnson, look on meetup. com and search for "Deals Meetup" (the name of their group)

Ultimately I'll be a pilot in the National Guard, so we'll be back up in Massachusetts.We want to keep our current home, at least for the immediate future.

Imagine the folks that did the same in the Nations area 10 years ago.

I own three studio or 1-bed cabins in Pigeon Forge/Gatlinburg, TN and one 3/2 house outside Sequoia National Park in California.  

Although National is in their name, I don't know if they insure in Texas, but it's worth finding out.  

Im in the top 1% of agents nation wide.....and when I buy or sell in another market, I still hire a local agent.

As pointed out in other threads a national meltdown of real estate prices is rare.

He failed the national portion twice (but passed state section on the first try.)

Check with some national banks too.
