The israeli government is giveing 25% grant for any real estate tourism project. included - hotels, motels, and tourist centers.

I am thinking about getting into the short-term rental market (e.g. airbnb) in San Antonio, considering tourism is a major industry for the city.

If there is another recession, how does that affect the tourism industry especially something of this size?

Are there other things about the location that would attract an AirBnB customer like convention centers, tourism, etc.?

I am helping a few Florida owners doing 1031s to Texas because they think the market is at his pick there.Anywhere Florida is well known for its tourism and I think that is why it attracts foreign investments but it is not favored by US investors now.I would be curious to hear your thougths.Cheers.

I'll try to be the voice of reason, but if I see something that I like, I may get on board.I was in Belize for a day(on a cruise) and can see the potential for any of these countries once theri tourism sector gets developed.

The US side had gone the quick cash industrial route many many years ago and now pays the price, the Canadians took the slow growth tourism way and are a real sparkling gem.

Many rentals were previously bank REOs or foreclosures from owners who didn't understand the financial & operational aspects.This would be hard to replicate elsewhere, as Gatlinburg is focused on year round tourism which is great for low vacancy.  

This is a unique location in that we can directly benefit from two major industries: real estate and tourism.
