So let's examine that, because the wave of new investors that email me every day feels a little bit like the hair stylist getting into RE.Real Estate is driven by suppy and demand, which makes it different to the stock market.

But progress stalled in November, then reversed course in December as a surge of Covid cases and hospitalizations triggered a new wave of shutdowns.

Now the appreciation wave is that much bigger (10-20% in just the last month)!

Regarding areas to look at, whether in the city, suburbs, or NW Indiana, there are of course pockets for each where you can find neighborhoods trending, where you might ride more of an appreciation wave....or neighborhoods that are a little more established and rents already stabilized. 

Needless to say, that is a substantial return and if you can ride the appreciation wave, it can create extraordinary returns.

From a childhood where my parents moved us every year, fixing up homes and selling for a profit (riding the RE wave of the 70s), I had an early comfort with and trust in real estate.
