OH, if I do not bid higher against the other bidders, I won't get the property. 9 times out of 10 - you are bidding against yourself and end up paying a higher price for what you could have got at a much lower price.I used to get upset when banks pulled the "highest and best" strategy on me...Then, I actually started selling some of the houses I was buying, and I realized that the bank was only trying to get the most money they possibly could for the asset they were selling -- and what's wrong with that!

I have never cared much about upsetting a Realtor that wanted to dictate what they would present or tell me what the seller would do, they are usually the ones you don't really care to deal with again anyway.
