Thier reasoning is to ensure that a crime is not committed in the future, laughable, you should not walk down the sidewalk because you could cross the street from there and jaywalk, breaking a law!

With a multi unit building someone has to clear the sidewalks and driveways for snow removal, someone has to mow the grass, someone has to replace light bulbs and tend to anything else that's in the "common" area.

Things that are obvious like cracked sidewalks you cant expect the seller to take care of that but major safety and health related items its more than reasonable to ask for.
