I am not positive but this situation might trigger the provision in the state law about domestic abuse and the tenants might be correct that they can legally break the lease.The other poster was correct the clock Begins to run on 30days after a forwarding address is received For return of the damage deposit.By law you have to itemize any items deducted from the security deposit to the threat of treble damages.My inclination is I would check the lease, and get them out ASAP.
