Hello everyone,Real estate tax changes under Trump may be only speculation at this point, but I came across this article today which talks about depreciation may be eliminated for real estate businesses in Trump's tax blueprint. 

I have been listening to Robert Kiyosaki's predictions after the trump election.

I read an article that Donald Trump would have made more money dollar cost averaging in the S&P 500 than building his RE empire.

Donald Trump has stated he wants to revert back to the status quo before President Obama on Cuba. 

Welcome@Chris Vair,  As a fellow engineer your embarking on an amazing opportunity,  what we are all excited about or atleast IMHO, is the volatility in 2017 with the Trump presidency taking into affect. 

With the advent of the USA allowing companies to repatriate their holdings back to America with minimal and/or no penalties and a much lower corporate tax rate along with other Trump driven incentives you might see the peso tanking a lot more before it's all over thereby making investing in Mexico even a better opportunity in the near future.I'm not a newbie when it comes to Mexico given that I'm a San Diego surfer who's surfed just about every beach where there's waves all throughout the Country and having been a former and current investor in Mexican real estate investments.

Yes, more or less.What trump is doing, from what I've gathered, is stacking net loss carryover on top of depreciation.

That's all the rest of the guys spouting ethics do on a daily basis and unless they were born with a silver spoon in their mouths like Trump, they started from somewhere too, with the same questions.

The deferral of taxes is a huge benefit when those saved taxes are reinvested (likely why we won't see the Donald's tax returns any time soon)
