Perhaps because they know people will do a simple internet search and see the *****torm that's brewing?

It's nice to see the community showing support for STRs and pointing out that an STR doesn't solve any of the real problems.  

I think you'll see the model continue to evolve in the future, with more "next gen" firms popping up.

I see the original post was made almost 3 years ago, so I’m definitely curious how your perspective might have evolved given the market’s ups and downs since then.

--reach out and thank them upon getting the booking and ask if they have any questions--send a "Welcome" email or automated message during the week prior to arrival--reach out the day after arrival to ask how everything was the first night and ask if there is anything that the property needs--reach out at the end of the stay (that morning or within 24 hours) and ask how everything was, anything to improve, anything to add to the house and then offer an incentive for returning guests.My 2 cents,Mike Absolutely stay in your place as Mike said.You will see things the cleaners will never let you know about.We stayed in our PF will putting up the Christmas decorations and found a cracked plastic shelf in the fridge. 

Couldn't you also see the headlines reading more like "Foreclosures on the Rise as Banks Crack Down on Predatory Investors".

If you see the same company you are looking at, then likely the actual operator.And, if you still have questions, ask them.  

I don't see the value there....paying a plumber to come re-iterate common sense. 

@Kyle FitchReal estate, you can see feel touch, stocks are hypothitcal instruments thst you dont even own, see the 2008 Lehman Bros collapse, all the indovidual stock owners lost everything.

I have been funding these types of props since 2002 for a turnkey company in Detroit who used LA based sales agents then over the years I have met most all of the Marketing companies or they have sold clients of mine props I see the commish on my huds.
