Since Wells Fargo is the worst offender in banking scandals and they operate a pretty corrupt business I'd prefer not to work with them, but they do offer up to $500,000 for a HELOC on an investment property (versus the more reputable PenFed Credit Union which only offers up to $400,000 and a lower interest rate).

The recent Coke contamination scandal in Real Estate has opened the eyes of many to the potential risks associated with holiday rentals.

@Mike Hern thankfully this is just due to Wells Fargo’s fraudulent account scandals and nothing to do with the economy as a whole.

They weren't created by brokers and they weren't created by lenders.There are some bad apples in EVERY business, but blaming the demise of the economy on a PRODUCT, which is what a mortgage is, is insanity.Remember the Firestone scandal a decade ago?

I was in Utah when Romney was ASKED to come fix the scandal ridden Olympics- which he did, saving the U.S. and possibly all Olympics.

But all I can think about is how wholesalers are the most scandalously overpaid bird-dogs on the planet.

Too much value can be destroyed with an accreditation or cheating scandal.  

We did it in 1987 with the S&L scandal - one reason we had and stiffened regulations.
