It may be beneficial for you.

As others stated, selling could be beneficial if you are going into negative cashflow.

You can't get mutual aid (with a several hour ETA) in time to stop it.

You can't sell a portion of a property like you can sell portions of stocks, bonds, mutual funds, etc.

It will be much more difficult, you need a team where is a mutual trust. 

Anything from REIT mutual funds to direct ownership (which depending on your definition is "passive" to many, including the IRS), to direct asset syndications and funds.  

What Peter might have left out, unless you are paying a premium, if you're paying a standard rate.. and lets be honest if you're a flipper you're trying to get these services at a discount.. why is it beneficial for the Architect to drop their other projects to jump on yours to get it back into the City in a couple days?

I think a conversation with the loan officer's manager to see if a compromise/alternative can be worked out may be beneficial.
