I however, complete disagree for an STR, especially if you are in a market with lots of guests and same day turnovers.If this was your personal hot tub I would agree, you can keep the chemicals balanced and only drain it and clean/refill every so many months.

I very well understand that the majority of people can't imagine this, but for instance during Covid many people I knew disagreed with the forced vaccines and such but were too scared to stand up for themselves.

I talked with our CPA about doing a partial disposition but he thinks that "the insurance proceeds won't be taxable assuming all the money was put back into the property" and the "partial disposition is probably less favorable than doing a direct offset and just not putting new assets into service".I understand the first part ("the insurance proceeds won't be taxable"), but I disagree with not doing the partial disposition.
