Hola Tivorones, I'm a Cuban that is Bi-Coastal living part time in California and commuting to where my family is in WNC, Asheville.

I will do my homework on long distance REI (even tho the markets are 1-2 hours away), but have a couple questions- What are some of your key metrics/signs you use when identifying a new market?

One more reason why long-distance management is a bad idea.

Will riverside continue to build keeping inventory steady and will people need to commute in traffic to get to work? 

I am also long distance, and would have to pay someone to show the house.

A commute of 20-30 minutes with traffic might not get you very far, depending on your work schedule and destination.

In that situation I purchased a SF property 4 hours away from me this year as a fix-n-flip and to test the hypothesis that long distance fix-n-flips could be viable investments. 

Temple is not part of the Austin metro area, but within a long commute range for a few.

I think that urban office still has a lot more pain to go through, but I wonder if many people will want to get out of the house to work in the next few years, but not have to commute through to downtown.
