Looking back on your earlier projects, what were the biggest mistakes or lessons learned in securing funding or managing build costs?

Investing is different from speculating, in that it’s data driven and therefor predictable and you have factors that play in that covers your downside and strengthen your chance of upside. 

People appreciate the balance of affordability and livability.What’s been the biggest hurdle for Orlando in pushing these types of projects forward?

Your account with hundreds/thousands of reviews is the biggest asset!  

The down side is that STRs are more work, need to furnish it, pay for utilities and WiFI but in the right market (vacationers and business travelers) it could work. - If I were looking at cash flow as a really important important metric, I'd consider starting a business.

The biggest employer shut down about a year ago and 3  hurricanes (2 major) hit directly in the last year.

You hit on a tough reality.. inheriting tenants who aren’t prepared to pay on time can be one of the biggest curveballs for a landlord.

Funding the larger properties to start sounds like it will be my biggest challenge and I'm not convinced, yet, that I can't find the money out of my own pocket or find OPM to get a deal done.
