I've had my website for less than a year and I've been focused on blogging and posting in forums, along with posting on G+, Facebook and Twitter. 

And what the heck is Twitter for any way, except for finding out the latest tweets our president is hurling.But, whether you like social media or not, your customers expect to see your small business there.

Plus you have to remember im 18 & we use twitter & instagram.

Re: InvestorCarrot - although you can't do PPC since it's cost prohibitive, that isn't to say you can't begin the process of ranking up your site, as well as marketing yourself on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Pinterest, etc.  

Then create tons of attention by networking to force others share that content which goes viral and builds backlinks.Plus you can think about advertising on Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Youtube if you have a budget to work it.
