"@ Frank ChinIn this specific instance, it is undeniable that a house was built on that property more than 15 years ago simply based on Google Earth data, but you can see by the county assessor records that the house on the subject property was built in 1950 and then the property encroaching was built over the property line shortly thereafter, in 1951.@ Matt Devincenzo,From the info in your post, the land does not seem to have officially been taken by AP.

If the claim can be disputed, OTA disputes it and makes it hard to collect and the host may simply give up.i think pm, airBnB, guest and LL all know who was responsible for the vape in the toilet, but ota did not charge guest or pay for it and gave the guest a discount (a discount for an issue that the guest was responsible for).

Later when speaking with ReadyREI about these issues they indicated that if I don’t hear back when they said a contractor was going to show up, that simply means that they weren’t able to make it and I should not need any communication (they just wanted me to go away and do things when they wanted).

Based on your post, it's probably best for you to simply not invest in Cook County for your own peace of mind.Sure, any tenant could stop paying rent and that risk is never zero.
