@William Good  I am in a similar situation so my advice to you is to find out as much as you can about your ex-employer's 401K plan - what it allows and not allow and time frame - so your funds are ready to go when the right property comes along.I made a mistake by not doing this, and assumed incorrectly that I can park my money inside the 401k plan and act once the right property comes along and I can create a new SD IRA account and do the rollover in a matter of days and be in a position to execute.Well not quite that simple.First of all, I found out that I cannot partially roll over my 401K to a SD IRA.
