They have cookie cutter websites you buy and then fill in your own information.

I might explore Irvine, it seems too cookie cutter to differentiate as special.

But for the ones that aren't cookie cutter, I try to do nice light fixtures, granite counter tops, glass block, curved walls, vaulted ceilings, bookcases, upgraded doors, a wet bar and finished basement.

If you move to the Inland Empire or Central Valley it's cheaper housing, but that defeats the whole purpose of living in CA IMO as those areas are cookie cutter arm pits and hot as hell in summer...AND you are STILL paying a 10% state income tax.

Neither market is fixed or rigged,they are just cyclical.  

Distance between similar projects helps for sure.Re-use designs where you can, but be sure to work out any licensing fees with your architect if you cookie cutter one of her plans.  

Oil drilling rigs are manufactured nearby, so the economy is expected to decline next year and the following year.
