Needless to say, there might be a challenge with zoning if I'd like to build or turn a large SFH into a MF.Whether I buy or build my plan is to owner-occupy, paid for with a 0% down VA loan.

Needless to say they were doing a terrible job but we saw massive potential.

Such needless complications.   

So needless to say not a good deal at all.It was fun to exercise my brain in this area.

So is it worth it to just learn syndications well from the beginning to become an expert in understanding those, so I don't needlessly add all of the extra risk as a newb investor?

(you will need less money to get in, you find a deal, flip the contract, then you can do some buy and sale.

On the other hand, if you cave to this tenant, and the next tenant, and the next tenant, you will never build up the "thick skin" that is required to be a successful landlord--and you'll be stuck in a never-ending cycle of stress and needlessly refunded deposits......not to mention the fact that (as others mentioned), you'll be producing more and more entitled, deadbeat tenants who think they can get away with property damage, lease violations, drug use, and extortion...those deadbeat tenants then go on to hurt other landlords, PMs, neighbors, community members, police officers, or anyone else who has to deal with their childish behavior. 

We need less soliciting and more knowledge being contributed to these forums.
