If your place is charming, clean and well-located you will have no issues.

The house is very charming, in a very quiet area at the end of a dead-end street, yet within walking distance of a vibrant downtown area with stores, bars and restaurants.

Too much wood can certainly make the place feel dated and dingy.I’d look into the possibility to keep some of the wood as accents and give that cabin/rustic charm. then drywall the other parts and paint white to make the place feel clean and modern.

If they must, I tell them to do the minimal amount of fire suppression before leaving.

Also most people don't understand that FB suppresses posts so if you wrote 10 blog posts your FB members will usually only see one show up on their news feed...
