I’ve been told on a few occasions south Austin west of i-35 has ‘soil’ issues.

I did find a contractor who is looking into the permits and suggested we get a soil engineer to make sure the septic will be sufficient. 

Foundation is block foundation with a crawlspace underneath as shown in the photo's below. - Comments from the vendors inspector: "Condition: The ceiling structure is invisible but the structure has moved on the 3floors and generates a level problem towards the center of the building.

Is there a subfloor underneath the wood flooring?

It's a tricky place because homes may often end up with foundation issues there due to the soil, so I'd only look for homes there that are within 5 years old (and still do a foundation inspection).

Account Closed - I've never pulled up carpet that didn't have stains underneath and that to me is damage. 

Total cost of the new tank, excavation, filling the whole with new soil, and repairs to the damage to ground was about $10k.

Our soil is largely made of clay and our temperatures while mostly moderate have extreme cold and heat within shorter periods of time.
