We do this to make money so we can donate time and money to charity.

My opinion is you cannot treat REI as a charity case.

When I give to a charity I never stroke the big check at first.

@JD Martin  @Russell Brazil  this is just someone who has no clue as to what the legal process's are and what it cost.and to get a court ( and only a court ) can reverse a sale would cost probably as much in attornies fee's as the equity is worth if not more.. better to donate that time and money to a worthy charity..

When someone asked me why I left my previous job, as a contractor working through a temporary help agency, I could say I completed my contract (I never used the "take this job and shove it" approach to moving on).As my wealth grew, I became confident enough to open and contribute regularly to a donor-advised fund and make anonymous donations to various 501(c)(3) charities to satisfy my need to be a Secret Santa.

Last night I was at a charity auction for college scholarships. 

If you want to be nice, give it charity

Tell the nice little old lady she can leave the income stream to her favorite charity.
