However, I called the City of Aurora to ask about zoning codes and considerations for doing this, and they said renting out a basement is not allowed in Aurora.

I recommend going into Zillow and look into zip codes 44102, 44109, 44111 and 44135 to get started.

In addition, we also can do “self showings” where the interested party gets a one time showing code.

@Jay Faulkenberry I was able to get the zone code for the property: R2 Residential.

I have a rental property in Portland with a finished basement - I managed the remodel myself, everything is up to code, and it was completed in May 2022.

Another BP member, @Kristina Kuba, informed me that inside city limits of Tampa, there is nothing in the muni code restricting less than 7 day stays and I was able to confirm that. 

And there are companies out there to help you send one mail out for $0.4-$0.5 and all you have to do is give them the parameters (zip code, city, etc.).

So if you look at the map and use the umbrella zoning color codes to know at a glance if something is residential, commercial, etc and then begin to zoom in, then you'll eventually be able to view specifics like R-1, R-2, CEIR, etc.
