Some context behind the initial choice for the HML is I don't have the liquid funds to support the purchase and rehab costs.

I am a believer in Bitcoin for sure - but this is an unnecessary gimmick - Bitcoin (and gold) is very liquid at this point so there is no real reason to make sure the actual transaction is denominated in bitcoin or gold instead of just converting it for the sale. 

If house is liquidated and divided to all beneficiaries, this family loses the place they call home and a living arrangement they have been able to afford.

It kinda reminds me of a town in Ohio where I live, but it seems like a lot more available, affordable cool houses with character!
